LipoSEARCH is an analytical service for lipoprotein profiling. The features are summarized as follows:
Clear lipoprotein profiles are obtained
-It provides data in terms of cholesterol and triglyceride (TG) levels and particle size on each of the 4 major classes of lipoproteins, i.e., CM, VLDL, LDL, and HDL and also on 20 subclasses (patents are pending for the technology).
-More accurate measurement of lipoprotein particle size is possible as the mode of separation is size-based.
Time-course studies are possible while keeping your test animals alive
-Only 10ƒÊL of the sample is required for the analysis.
Various types of sample are measurable
-Serum, plasma, culture supernatant and cerebrospinal fluid from humans to small animals such as mice, rats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and marmosets are measurable.
Turn-around is short
-The data are provided in about 5 working days from the receipt of your sample.
LipoSEARCH is used by a wide variety of people
Users of LipoSEARCH currently include pharmaceutical and food companies and academic researchers in a wide variety of fields such as medical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and nutritional science and exercise medicine. Typically, users conduct studies on lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. LipoSEARCH is beneficial particularly to those who want to
-obtain more comprehensive and clearer data on lipoprotein profiles,
-conduct time-course studies on lipoprotein profiles while keeping test animals alive,
-observe lipoprotein profiles in small or dilute samples such as culture supernatant and cerebrospinal fluid.

Optional data items
(1) Measurement of free cholesterol level and phospholipid (PL) level in each fraction.
(2) Measurement of apolipoproteins (AI, AII, B, CII, and E).
(3) Measurement of cholesterol and TG levels in samples with extremely low concentrations such as culture supernatants and cerebrospinal fluid.

Measurement in culture supernatants
LipoSEARCH enables the measurement of lipoprotein particles in experimental systems in which the cholesterol and TG levels cannot be analyzed without any pretreatment such as concentration (e.g., systems that use an enzyme method).
The background of the culture medium can be completely eliminated using gel filtration, since the components of the culture medium are smaller than the lipoproteins.
LipoFRACTION is a service that monitors lipid components and fractionates and collects lipoprotein particles in each fraction. This service is a satisfactory option for researchers who would like to carry out the following activities:
Collection of lipoproteins in specific fractions without destruction
Analysis of apolipoprotein components in specific fractions
Clarification of the distribution of novel functional proteins that are attached to the surface of lipoprotein particles
It was confirmed that the elution times were almost unchanged for measurements conducted on the same samples.
the collected fraction samples were subjected to an enzymatic reaction, and the absorbance during the enzymatic reaction was plotted (blue).
The cholesterol content in the collected fractions was determined by HPLC and plotted (pink).
The two plots were observed to almost overlap.
